Thomas Oliver reveals stunning live performance of latest single ‘Losin’ from forthcoming album Floating In The Darkness and announces Australian tour dates

“Utilizing the simplest and unobtrusive instrumentation, Thomas Oliver captures the loneliness of heartbreak with acoustic guitar strums and shards of soulful tone.”

- Aupium Global Music

It was the heartstring-tugging single that whisked Thomas Oliver into 2017 with that same grace and poise that has come to define his work. Now, the Australian-born New Zealand based singer/songwriter is pleased to present a live video of ‘Losin’ and also reveal that he is coming to our shores on a run of live shows this June.

Taken from his forthcoming album, Floating In The Darkness, out April 28, Oliver’s latest single ‘Losin’ is an ode to lost love – a soul-filled melancholy number that touches on the loneliness of heartbreak, whilst simultaneously creating a sense of warmth and security like that of a much-needed hug.

Filmed live for Aston Rd Sessions, the video accompaniment showcases Oliver’s effortless vocal range opening with a beautiful, yet pained falsetto which gradually transforms to the warm, low, and hopelessly submissive tones of it’s chorus. The impeccable vocals sit atop a simple acoustic arrangement of soft-slapping guitar, delicate harmonies, and a soulful flugelhorn solo that evidently touches everyone in the intimate space.

“‘Losin’ is a lonely song about feeling someone you love slip away. But it’s intentionally juxtaposed with a bouncy rhythm and sweet melodies. This is meant to represent being so acquainted with hurt that you hardly feel it anymore”
